A Culinary Journey Through Jordan

Food, friendship, and the stories that bind them together

In Jordan, we have a saying: “Full stomach, happy mood.”
Food in Jordan is a symbol of hospitality, offered with open arms. It is a way of breaking down barriers, and a gateway into our culture and history. Every meal tells a story, every flavour carries a tradition. On this journey, we invite you not only to taste Jordan, but to experience it—with your heart, soul, and stomach.

Day 1: Arrival in Amman – First Taste of the City

Your journey begins in the capital. At the airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed and guided to your driver, who will whisk you into the city. Built on seven hills, Amman stretches wide and vibrant—a blend of ancient roots and modern rhythm. Cafés buzz into the night, and no matter what time you arrive, your driver will ensure you enjoy your first Jordanian bite before resting at your hotel.

Day 2: Ancient Amman & Flavors of the City

After a relaxed breakfast, step into Amman’s heart. Begin at the Citadel, perched high above the city, where echoes of the Bronze Age meet sweeping views. Wander past the Temple of Hercules and Umayyad Palace before descending to the Roman Theatre, still magnificent after centuries.

Then, let your senses lead you through the bustling streets of Downtown Amman. The calls of vendors, the colors of spice stalls, the smell of freshly baked bread—all invite you deeper. Lunch is a treat at Hashem’s, famous for its creamy hummus and golden falafel. Dessert follows at Habiba Sweets, where the syrupy crunch of warm knafeh is a must. By evening, you’ll feel the pulse of Amman in your bones.
Overnight in Amman.

Day 3: Salt – City of Hospitality

Travel to As-Salt, a UNESCO World Heritage city known for its history, agriculture, and golden stone houses. Once a vital trading post, today it shines as a symbol of tolerance and community.

Your guide will walk you through lively markets, A’shour Bakery (where traditional shrak bread is baked over hot domes), and along Hammam Street, alive with shops and stories. Pause for lunch in a family-run restaurant, where flavors are as genuine as the welcome.

In the evening, settle into Beit Aziz, a restored 19th-century home turned boutique hotel. Here, join your hosts for a private cooking class before unwinding in this timeless city.

Day 4: Dana Nature Reserve & Bedouin Traditions

Head south to the dramatic landscapes of Dana Biosphere Reserve. Accompanied by a local guide, take a 3–4 hour “plant hike,” learning how Bedouins have long used herbs, roots, and shrubs as medicine, food, and even soap. Watch the Great Rift Valley unfold before you, alive with birdsong and wild beauty.

At Feynan Ecolodge—named by National Geographic as one of the world’s top 25 eco-lodges—you’ll take part in an evening cooking class and finish the night under a blanket of stars.

Day 5: Petra – A Wonder of the World & a Family Table

Step through the Siq and meet the world wonder of Petra. The sight of the Treasury in morning light is unforgettable. Explore further: the Royal Tombs, the High Place of Sacrifice, and narrow canyons echoing with history.

As night falls, join a local family for a traditional dinner. Beyond eating, you’ll step into their kitchen to learn how to prepare a Jordanian dessert—sweetness shared with laughter and stories.

Day 6: Hidden Petra & Outdoor Cooking

This morning, take the scenic back route into Petra, hiking towards the colossal Monastery, a masterpiece carved high into the cliffs. Pause for a refreshing juice before winding down another trail to the main site.

In the afternoon, shop the local markets with your guide to gather fresh ingredients. Then, head out into the wild for a Jordanian-style outdoor cooking adventure. As the fire crackles and tea brews, you’ll prepare your own feast surrounded by desert silence and wide skies.

Day 7: Mastering Jordanian Flavors

Today is all about hands-on food experiences. Begin with a Mezze Masterclass in a local home—perfecting falafel, kubba, hummus, and more.

Continue to Petra’s very own chocolate factory for a behind-the-scenes look (and taste!) before trying your hand at chocolate-making.

End the day learning the timeless art of bread baking—the heart of every Jordanian meal. The smell of fresh bread mingling with family dishes and warm hospitality is the perfect finale.

Day 8: The Dead Sea – Reflection & Rest

Your final stop is the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Float effortlessly in its mineral-rich waters, cover yourself in the famous healing mud, and take time to reflect on a week of flavors, landscapes, and friendships.

Overnight by the Dead Sea.

Day 9: Departure

Your driver will transfer you to the airport with a heart (and stomach) full of Jordan’s generosity.
